Wealthy Trump Donors Get Rapid COVID Tests at Northeast Ohio Fundraiser While Ohioans Struggle with Testing Access, Delays

As Donald Trump continues to downplay the severity of the coronavirus pandemic and ignore public health experts, the Trump re-election campaign will host a high-dollar campaign fundraiser in northeast Ohio on Thursday. Local media has reported that all attendees of the fundraiser will receive rapid coronavirus tests, as Ohioans struggle to access testing and experience long delays in testing results.

For Our Future Ohio spokesperson Chelsea Kiene issued the following statement:

From the onset of the coronavirus crisis, Donald Trump has failed to lead. Trump’s outrageous and false claims about the pandemic have cost American lives, endangered our communities, and forced thousands of Ohioans to the brink. While Trump’s wealthy and well-connected campaign donors have access to rapid testing, many Ohioans are struggling to get tested or have to wait more than a week for their results. This is a disgraceful and stunning display of how Trump continues to prioritize those at the top over everyday Ohioans.”
