Despite the challenges a once in a generation pandemic brought, more Ohioans than ever cast their ballots in the 2020 general election. We voted by mail, early in person, used drop boxes, and socially-distanced and masked on Election Day. Instead of building on that success, some Republicans in the Ohio House are working to make it harder for people to vote.
House Bill 294 will cut early voting hours, stiffen voter identification requirements, will severely limit the usage of ballot drop boxes, and more. These proposed changes would not help any Ohioans, and will have a disproportionately negative impact on Black and Brown voters, students, low-income Ohioans, people with disabilities, active duty military, and seniors.
All of us, no matter our race, income, age or zip code, deserve for our government to protect, not infringe upon, our right to vote. Demand more from the Ohio House.
At For Our Future, we are fighting back against this proposed voter-suppression legislation. Together, we can use our collective voice to hold our elected officials accountable by generating grassroots actions and amplifying the call to protect voting rights.
Add your voice and action to protect voting rights in Ohio!
